Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has shared the presidential candidate he voted, a move that saw him breaking the electoral rules.

John Dumelo who is a staunch supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaigned for the party ahead of the 2016 elections.

Shortly after casting his ballot, he posted a photo of his choice for president, John Dramani Mahama, on Snapchat with the caption:

“I’m voting for peace, stability and economic property [prosperity] #toaso.”

The actor’s action however goes against the rules of the Electoral Commission that stipulates that no mobile phones are allowed at the electoral area. Voters have also been warned not to take or share photos of their votes.

“No mobile phones, food, pens or drinks will be allowed at the voting area,” EC Chair Charlotte Osei outlined during a press conference on Tuesday, December 6.
