The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, has been subjected to a global smack after misleading and misinforming the public with reports of the passing of former South African President Thabo Mbeki on its TV network last Wednesday.

According to the report on the major news bulletin,the former South African president who served nine years as the second post-apartheid President of South Africa from 14 June 1999 to 24 September 2008 died on arrival at the hospital following a short Illness after complaining of sickness at dawn that day.

This report which was however false earned the broadcasting network a massive lambasting from across the continent. The latest person to add her voice is Ghanaian female journalist and comedienne Afia Schwarzenegger who has condemned the TV station heavily for tarnishing a well built legacy and also embarrassing the entire nation.
