Singer Becca: Efya Is My Favorite Female Artist
We all have our favorite things in life and award-winning singer Becca is no exception. She was speaking with Sky FM’s Ike Frimpong when asked to name her favorite female vocalist in Ghana.
Becca mentioned a couple of names she thinks are doing amazingly well and eventually picked a favorite without mincing words.
“All of them are doing an amazing job by promoting true Ghanaian music but right now one person that’s doing very well is Efya. I’m so motivated by her ability to sing, her vocal dexterity and her zeal when it comes to work. So right now I think Efya is one of my favorite female artists in the country.” she revealed.
She also spoke about her relationship with the incredible Afro-pop singer Efya and their upcoming collaboration.
“We speak almost all the time I call her my baby sis and she calls me Mama. We’ve spoken a number of times about doing a song together, I don’t know if it’s going to be on the album but fans should look forward to with her.”
Becca talked further concerning her role in Yvonne Nelson’s “If tomorrow never comes” film, stating that it was a very challenging and fantastic script hence her involvement in the movie.
“I decided to be in the movie because it was a fantastic script. I think Yvonne Nelson really did well. She wasn’t the first person to ask me to do a movie, a few people had come around to ask and I honestly didn’t find the scripts challenging enough so i wasn’t attracted to do it.
Reading the scripts actually encouraged me because it was away from all the glamour and the things they are used to. It was different and out of the ordinary. I actually learnt a lot from it, it’s beautiful and was an amazing challenge,” Becca said.
She again stated that she currently isn’t ready to feature in any movie at the moment, as she focuses on finishing up her upcoming EP and Album. They will both be out in the first quarter of 2017 as she commemorates a decade in the music industry.
