Hip Life Artiste Guru Withdraws From the 2017 Ghana Music Awards

Few days after premiering his newest music video ‘’Booze and Boobs’’, Ghanaian Hip life/Hip-hop artiste Guru has surprisingly pulled out of the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Prior to this, the musician who has been consistently churning out hit songs revealed he was simply not interested in the awards scheme anymore.

In a statement on twitter, the “samba” crooner simply announced his exemption from the Awards without citing any concrete reasons. He wrote;

“Not competing for this year #vgma thanks yall for your support tonight will drop 2 Videos for all proud ff of #TeamNkz

It comes after a series of public spats involving some bribery speculations hovering around the most prestigious award show in Ghanaian music.

Guru secured three (3) nominations in the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The nominations included Hip life Song of the year, Hip life/Hip-hop Artist of the year, and best collaboration of the year.
