Sarkodie Offers to Pay Creatives with ‘exposure’ and Gets Slammed

Twitter Roasts Sarkodie over “Exposure” Comments

From the time he joined Twitter, Sarkodie has been all over the place. He is known for his regular interactions and humor on the platform and enjoys a huge following of over 1 million.

People love him for his comical tweets but there is a fine line between being funny and downright offensive which many think Sarkodie just crossed with this tweet on paying creative with exposure.

On Tuesday Jan 24, the rapper asked for “all avant garde hipsters and creative artists to be part of an African superstar music video.”

The condition to join the video shoot however does not include getting paid for the effort and time: “it is not paying gig (sic), it is however an opportunity to gain lots of exposure.”

It looks the last part of his message didn’t go down well with many on social media, as they have in turn descended on him viciously.

His recent “rival” M.anifest however on the whole development in an unconventional way by sharing shared the link to the video of his song ‘Waniaba’ featuring Bisa Kdei with the caption:  #throwbacktuesday #waniabahttps://youtu.be/OH9Uedlll4Y #afrofuturism #paidfor#ifyouwantmorethanexposure#cometosingitdamnitmusic

A few years ago, he lashed out at events company, CharterHouse for using his image without their permission, which he thought bordered on disrespect of the artiste.

He insinuated that the people involved in the shoot were paid, and asked that people who want more than exposure should come to SingItDamnIt, record label of M.anifest.
