Stonebwoy Declares: “I’m Done With Shatta Wale’s Gimmicks”
Dancehall warrior, Stonebwoy has revealed in an interview that he is no more going to pay attention to Shatta Wale’s gimmicks.
Shatta had earlier disclosed in an interview that he has managed to strike a $15,000 deal with Coke Studio Africa instead of an initial $4,000 offer. He also revealed that other Ghanaian artists including Stonebwoy, Efya and E.L were offered only $4000 by Coke Studio Africa.
“They were paid $ 4,000 each. That’s how they see Ghanaian artistes. They cannot stand for the right thing,” he complained.
But in an interview with Accra-based Pluzz FM, Stonebwoy said Shatta Wale can only speak for himself and not others.
“He can only disclose figures for himself but not for others since contractually, he doesn’t know what goes on in other people’s camp.
I don’t think it’s professional that much for people to talk their business publicly. We all know Shatta, talk money, talk this and that about his brand. Which is good for him but I think it’s a low blow for him to talk about my business and contract”.
The Bhim Nation president also said Shatta Wale’s gimmick is not a new thing to him, adding that “it’s all cool for me, am not offended.”
“Can I feel offended, no, because it’s not a new thing. We all know how an artiste and probably how he (Shatta Wale) say something in a smart way to discredit other peoples and credit himself. But am long gone, am done with all that gimmicks. So it’s all cool for me, am not offended.
When Stonebwoy was asked how much he was paid to be on the show, the “Problem” singer rather chose to remain discreet.
“I can’t mention figures, at least He (Shatta Wale) has mentioned his figure and might as well show you his contract agreement. But I will not do that”.
The Coke Studio Africa is a music show seeking to bring together and showcase the diversity of African musical talent. The show’s core value is to bring together artistes from different genres, eras and countries on the continent to create a modern and authentic sound through music.
Ghanaian artists who have already been selected to appear on the show include Efya, Stonebwoy, E.L and Feli Nuna .
